The Heart of Easter: A Journey of Love and New Beginnings

Spring is a season full of color, warmth, and new life. Flowers bloom, animals wake up, and the world feels fresh again. In the middle of all this beauty, we celebrate Easter—a special reminder of love, hope, and starting again.

At The Insight Series Kids, we love helping families explore these big stories in simple ways. Easter is a wonderful chance for children to learn about God’s love while also understanding their own feelings.

The Easter Story: A Message of Love

Easter tells the story of Jesus, who taught us kindness, forgiveness, and compassion. On Good Friday, we remember a sad moment when Jesus died on the cross because He loved us deeply. It’s okay for kids to feel sad when hearing this part.

But Easter Sunday brings joy—Jesus came back to life! This miracle shows us that God’s love is stronger than anything and that new beginnings are always possible.

Feelings in the Easter Story

Easter holds both sadness and happiness, just like our own lives. Kids may feel wonder, joy, or even confusion—and all feelings are welcome. Talking about these emotions helps children grow in self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

Ask your children:
“How does the Easter story make your heart feel?”

Family Activity: The Kindness Hunt

Celebrate Easter by spreading love through a Kindness Hunt!

How it works:

  1. Write small acts of kindness on notes or place them inside plastic eggs.
Examples: “Give a compliment,” “Help with a chore,” “Draw a picture for someone.”
  2. Hide them around your home or yard.
  3. Let the kids find them and complete each act of kindness.
  4. Talk about how showing kindness made everyone feel.

This simple activity helps kids live out the true message of Easter: sharing love.

A Message of Hope

Easter reminds us that God’s love never ends. Even when life feels hard, hope can grow again—just like spring.

A Short Easter Prayer

“Dear God, thank You for Easter and for Jesus’ amazing love. Thank You for hope and new beginnings. Help us share kindness wherever we go. Amen.”
