I am gladly working on the 4th book of The Insight Series Kids!
For a long time, I wished to bring the topic of bullying into the series, but in a light, gentle way that helps children talk openly about it.
And I made to find a good narrative.
I am happy with the whole process. Creating The Insight Series Kids was never about being fast or selling at any cost, in high volumes, or using AI for everything… Not here, not for me. I want a personal touch in everything (although I do use AI to help me translate into other languages :D).
Inspired by the idea of slow fashion, I googled and discovered that slow writing is actually a real term—and it follows the same mindset:
“Slow writing is a deliberate, reflective approach to composition that prioritizes quality, precision, and mindful pacing over speed or high-volume output. It involves crafting prose sentence by sentence, often using constraints to improve sentence structure and word choice, rather than focusing on producing a fast, messy first draft.”
—quote from the internet.
And The Insight Series Kids is indeed a follower of slow writing. I work on some topics for months until I truly find the right narrative or story to tell. I hire an illustrator (who is, in my opinion, the best one!) to create everything from scratch. The choice of characters, the colors, the words… every detail matters deeply to me.
The image of this post is a glimpse of this creative process.
To guarantee the quality of the messages and themes, I also hire specialized psychologists to review them. This became even more important after social media created a “boom” of so-called experts in every topic. And when it comes to children, we must be careful with the message: we need to nurture their spirit, support their emotions, and encourage them in life—especially with Christ.
Working on this new book, planned to be launched in May, I’m happy to confirm that The Insight Series Kids is proudly following the slow-writing trend.
Why do we need everything so fast, right?
The best feedback I receive comes from parents who say their children ask to read the book again and again every night… It shows that this work is bringing light into their hearts—and they want more.
From the blessings in my heart to yours,
I wish you a calmer pace in life.
Carol
